This is a reminder to those of you who forgot and those of you that don’t know. Your training programs should not leave you feeling “smoked”, exhausted, worn out, depleted, etc every time you leave the gym/track/pool and so on. If they are, then you need to find a new trainer or program to follow!
It is more advantageous for weight gain, weight loss, sport performance, and general health to vary the intensity of your training programs. There are quite a few programs out there that monitor heart rate variability and overall nervous system readiness, but simply leaving the gym feeling like you have a little energy left is a start.
